Before dawn on the 28th, two women died in a fire that burned futons in a room of an apartment house in Habikino City, Osaka.

Police are checking the identities of parents and children in their 70s and 40s who live in this room, and are investigating the cause of the fire.

Around 2:30 am on the 28th, a person living nearby reported to the fire department that smoke was coming out of the room on the 3rd floor of a 3-story steel-framed apartment building in Shimaizumi, Habikino City, Osaka.



Eleven fire trucks came out and the fire was extinguished after about 20 minutes, but the futon in the bedroom was burnt.



According to police and fire departments, two women were found lying down in the room and were taken to the hospital, but were confirmed dead.



According to the police, a 77-year-old woman and a daughter in her 40s lived in this room, and the police died because they could not be contacted after the fire. We are in the process of confirming our identity.



The site is a residential area about 500 meters north of Takawashi Station on the Kintetsu-Minami Osaka Line, and police and fire departments are investigating the detailed cause of the fire.
