Google celebrates the first female doctor in Tunisia

The Google search engine celebrated the birth anniversary of the Tunisian doctor Tawhida Bin Sheikh, who was described as the doctor of the poor. 

And Google changed its logo to its image, to celebrate March 27, which coincides with her birthday.

Google's celebration of what is represented by the date today, March 27, which witnessed the initiative of the Central Bank of Tunisia to launch a paper currency bearing the image of Tawhida bin Sheikh.

The Tunisian doctor is one of the women who changed the way the lives of women in Tunisia and the entire Arab world.

Google stated that Dr. Tawhida bin Sheikh was the first woman to practice the profession of medicine in Tunisia and the Maghreb, and had created the first Tunisian women's magazine, whose name was "Leila."

Dr. Tawhida was born on January 2, 1909, and died in Tunis, at the age of 101, on December 06, 2010.

One of her main professional achievements is encouraging her to use contraception, as she campaigned in favor of abortion with the establishment of the first women's health and family planning clinic in Tunisia.

And her specialization in gynecology made her a pioneer in Tunisia, especially after the fame of her women's clinic, especially since Tunisia was a French colony at that time.
