In an effort to promote the spread of vehicles that do not emit carbon dioxide while driving, the Ministry of the Environment has been using electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles in the parking lots of Shinjuku Gyoen Garden, Kyoto Gyoen National Garden, and some national parks in Tokyo since April. I decided to make the parking fee free.

Free parking for electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles is available at 16 parking lots in Shinjuku Gyoen, Kyoto Gyoen, and national parks nationwide, such as Lake Mashu and Tottori Sand Dunes in Hokkaido. ..

Free of charge will start from April 1st, and the parking lots in the national park will be free of charge all day long.

On the other hand, regarding Shinjuku Gyoen and Kyoto Gyoen, considering that they are located in the center of the city, the free time is limited to 2 hours for Shinjuku Gyoen and 3 hours for Kyoto Gyoen.

Toward the realization of a "decarbonized society," the government is promoting the spread of vehicles that do not emit carbon dioxide while driving, but the number of electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles sold in Japan is higher than that of Germany and China. It is significantly less.

The Ministry of the Environment has also started a new subsidy system that doubles the subsidy for purchasing electric vehicles on the condition that there is an environment where it can be charged with electricity from renewable energy, and various measures are taken. We would like to promote the spread of such vehicles and lead to the realization of a "decarbonized society."
