The Berlin Senate is making companies more accountable in the fight against the corona pandemic.

In the future, companies will have to enable their employees to have a corona test twice a week.

However, there is no obligation to test for employees.

This was announced by Berlin's Governing Mayor Michael Müller (SPD) on Saturday after a special session of the Berlin Senate.

In addition, a mandatory implementation of the home office will apply in the future.

The presence in the offices will be limited to 50 percent, said Müller.

There could not always only be restrictions in the private sector, he justified the measures.

"We have to use the entire spectrum of possibilities."

Müller also combined the announcement of the measures with an appeal to the citizens.

People should “reduce their contacts to a minimum in public and private areas” at Easter.

He warned, "These days are really crucial now."

In view of the sharp increase in the number of infections, the corona measures are also being tightened in part in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

In regions with a seven-day incidence of more than 100, nocturnal exit restrictions will be possible in the future.

If the corona infections are classified as locally indefinable, exit restrictions are to be introduced there from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., as Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) announced in Schwerin.
