A woman in her 50s, who had been confirmed infected with the new coronavirus when she arrived from Egypt this month, was found dead in a quarantine station accommodation, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is investigating the details.

The person who died was a woman in her 50s who lives in Hiroshima prefecture.



According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the woman arrived at Narita Airport from Egypt on the 16th of this month and was confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus by inspection at the quarantine station.



At the request of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the woman was being treated at an accommodation facility prepared by the quarantine station, but was found dead in her room on the morning of the 27th.



Fever was seen for 3 days from the day after entering Japan, but after that, there were no symptoms, and on the evening of the 26th, there was no abnormality when checking the health condition using a smartphone.



A staff member visited the room after being unable to contact him on the morning of the 27th, and found a woman lying on her bed.



The cause of death is unknown at this time, and it is not clear if there was an underlying illness.
