Speaking of Xiaoqinghe, everyone living in Jinan is no stranger.
At this stage, with the countdown of the Xiaoqing River re-navigation project, many coastal residents can't help but think of the scene of the gathering of ships in the river many years ago.
Yang Yong, the author of "The Map of the East Flow of the Xiaoqing River", is a resident along the Xiaoqing River.
Out of special feelings for Xiaoqinghe, he traveled to every corner of the river and measured the 237-kilometer river with his feet.
After 6 years, Yang Yong finally drew the 15-meter-long "Xiaoqing River Flowing East Map" based on the 20 years from 1880 to 1900.
[Explanation] On March 25, the reporter saw in Yang Yong’s house that more than 1,000 manuscripts of "The Map of Xiaoqinghe Dongliu" were neatly placed on the workbench. In the manuscripts, dock workers, antique buildings, etc. lifelike.
Yang Yong is currently making a second creation based on historical data collected recently.
Yang Yong said that in addition to having special feelings for Xiao Qinghe, there is another very important reason for the idea of drawing Xiao Qinghe.

In the past, old people knew that when the Xiaoqinghe River was mentioned, they knew that the river was a smelly river. It became a drainage channel. The sewage from many counties and cities was received along the river. The smell did not make me give up on Xiaoqinghe. Concerned, through many books, I found that Xiaoqinghe used to be a canal.
Later, I came up with an idea that I wanted to replicate the glorious scene of Xiaoqinghe at that time, and in this way, I could show the most glorious history of Xiaoqinghe to future generations.
[Explanation] Since 2015, every weekend, Yang Yong will pick up the camera, drive or take a boat to the bank of the Xiaoqing River to record the visit.
He has been proficient in Chinese painting since he was a child, and painted old photos and other materials obtained from the visits into delicate manuscripts.
Jinan Old Railway Station, Hongjialou Church, Ding Baozhen’s Tomb... These relatively familiar places from Shandong people were all included in the "Xiaoqing River East Flow Map" one by one, and the agricultural and commercial scenery along the Xiaoqing River is unobstructed.
Yang Yong told reporters that during the creation period, the biggest difficulty he faced was how to restore the ships passing by on the Xiaoqing River.

The best reflection of the prosperity of the Xiaoqing River is the boats on the river, so I read a lot of historical materials and learned that there are some very distinctive boats on the Xiaoqing River, especially the trough boats.
Because some sections of the Xiaoqing River are very narrow, in order to facilitate the boats to travel, especially when turning around, it is very maneuverable for trough ships. It can be dismantled from the docking point to form two short boats. Turn the head over and then dock it. on.
[Explanation] After 6 years of unremitting efforts, a 15-meter-long "Small Qing River Flowing East Map" was born under Yang Yong's skillful hands.
It is worth noting that "The Map of the East Flow of the Xiaoqing River" is different from other paintings. It is based on the manuscript, scanned and spliced in proportion to the computer.
The reason why Yang Yong uses this method is to more conveniently integrate the newly collected materials into the painting for the second creation.
Yang Yong said that next, he plans to drift across the Xiaoqing River, supplementing materials from different perspectives for creation.

The main purpose of rafting is to experience the hardships of the boats that were walking on the Xiaoqing River in the past, and to inspect the Xiaoqing River in more detail along the way. If you want to paint the Xiaoqing River, you must go deep into the Xiaoqing River. You can’t just be on the bank, and Xiaoqing River. The fishermen (communication) from them learn more about Xiaoqinghe’s stories.
[Explanation] In the past two years, Yang Yong discovered during his visit that the Xiaoqing River had been treated and changed from the original "Little Smelly River" to a veritable "Qing River". You can often see fishing lovers sitting in a row on the banks of the river.
The river was clear, and he couldn't see the scene of sewage 20 years ago, which made him very pleased.
At this stage, what Yang Yong is most looking forward to is the opening of the Xiaoqing River to navigation again. He can finally witness the prosperity of the Xiaoqing River channel with his own eyes instead of just viewing it in old photos.
