For the past few days, several town halls in the department, including those of Cannes, Antibes and even Menton, have authorized “non-essential” businesses located in their territory to offer their services and goods directly on the public highway, in front of their window.

“These provisions are not provided for by the decree […] prescribing the measures necessary to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic in the context of the state of health emergency.

Mayors were asked to put an end to such practices, ”notes the prefect.

Since Saturday, the Alpes-Maritimes department has been subject to new confinement, in particular forcing certain businesses deemed “non-essential” by the government to remain closed to slow the progression of the new coronavirus.
