The woman was convicted in 2019 of gross slander in the district court after publishing the posts in Facebook groups in connection with #metoo.

She has demanded that the Court of Appeal acquit her of the prosecution and reject the film director's claim for damages, but the Court of Appeal follows the district court's line.

They write in the verdict that they fully share the district court's assessment that the woman published the posts in two different Facebook groups in 2017 and that the information she shared in the posts was sufficient to identify the man even though he was not named.

They also write that the woman acted with intent.

The Court of Appeal changes the district court's judgment on one point, she is convicted of libel on two occasions instead of three.

The Court of Appeal makes no new assessments of sanctions and damages than those made by the district court that the woman must pay damages of SEK 60,000 to the film director.

Taking into account the woman's financial circumstances, the state must pay the costs for the plaintiff's counsel and the defense counsel in the Court of Appeal.
