The third part of the parody saga carried by actor Jean Dujardin, "OSS 117: Red Alert in Black Africa", will not be released on April 14, as was planned.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film will be released on August 4, if theaters are reopened.

Jean Dujardin will wait.

The release of the next installment of the parody spy comedy "OSS 117" has been postponed from April to August due to the health crisis, Gaumont announced on Thursday.

"OSS 117: Red Alert in Black Africa", signed Nicolas Bedos and with Pierre Niney and Fatou N'Daye in the credits, is one of the most anticipated French films for the reopening of cinemas.

Scheduled for April 14, it must finally be released on August 4, if theaters are reopened.

A huge traffic jam when the cinemas reopen?

The authorities recently discussed with the operators the idea of a reopening in three stages, with increasingly wide gauges.

But the rooms are chomping at the bit: no date is envisaged for the moment.

In the meantime, the films finished and ready to be broadcast are accumulating by the dozen, raising fears of a huge traffic jam at the exit.

Small films or independents could be overwhelmed by competition, while big productions each seek the most favorable window possible.
