Swedish Radio P3 received criticism from several quarters, including politicians, when Yasin was named artist of the year at the P3 Gold Gala.

Yasin was detained during the award ceremony on suspicion of stamping for kidnapping, since then charges have been brought against the artist.

Another rapper, accused of (same) kidnapping, is said to have tried to send a letter from the prison to a gang leader to make him threaten P3 to play his music more.

He also writes that he wants someone from the channel to be kidnapped.

"(My) music should be played at least once every 3 hours," he writes in the letter.

No legal action

- As I see it, none of our employees have been exposed to threats, says Anna-Karin Larsson, area manager at Swedish Radio to Kulturnyheterna.

The rapper in question is played in the hip-hop channel P3 Din gata, but not in other broadcasts, writes Expressen.

However, there are no plans to stop playing the artist's music.

- We still have the same attitude.

We still distinguish between a musical work and the one who wrote it.

It is completely unacceptable to expose people to threats, but it is a hypothetical thought.

The letter has not led to any legal action as the threat could not be reached as the letter never left custody.

The rapper's lawyer Anton Strand tells Expressen that he does not want to comment on the letter and that his client denies the crimes he is accused of.
