RTL did not provide any information about the illness itself, the broadcaster only sent its longstanding figurehead a few recovery wishes on the way.

The "Bild" newspaper reported that she had reached Bohlen on her cell phone, but he did not want to comment on the rejection.

The only known illness since February is that he had seriously injured his foot while sledding - since then, Bohlen has published optimistic posts on social networks.
