The European Union "will not be the turkey of the vaccination joke," Gabriel Attal warned on Wednesday, recalling AstraZeneca to its commitments.

The laboratory has kept "almost entirely" its commitments "with Great Britain but not with the European Union" in terms of vaccine delivery, "it is a totally unacceptable situation", denounced the spokesperson of the government.

At the end of the Council of Ministers, Gabriel Attal recalled that a "stock of nearly 30 million doses was identified during an inspection" in Italy.

The Swedish-British laboratory has not delivered all the doses planned for the European Union, drawing the wrath of European leaders.

To fight the pandemic and the shortage of doses, the EU decided on Wednesday to place its vaccine exports under close surveillance.
