On March 22, when a bus from Wuchuan to Guangzhou was passing through the Shenhai Expressway in Yangxi County, Yangjiang, Guangdong, the engine compartment of the vehicle caught fire. The driver quickly evacuated the passengers.
After receiving the alarm, the local fire department rushed to the scene for disposal.
The firefighters came to the scene and learned that after the bus driver discovered that the vehicle was on fire, he made an emergency stop and evacuated 33 passengers from the vehicle to the highway and used a vehicle-mounted fire extinguisher for self-rescue. However, due to the strong wind, the fire at the scene was getting bigger and unable to save Extinguished; at the same time, the bus attendant dialed 119 to report to the police.
After receiving the alarm, the local fire department immediately dispatched 5 fire engines and 28 people to the scene for disposal. In less than an hour, the fire was successfully put out.
The bus at the scene was burned down, and there were no casualties due to the timely evacuation.
At present, the cause of the fire needs further investigation.
