The CDU member of the Bundestag Christoph de Vries calls for a correction in the Corona policy: "I advocate that we switch from emergency to regular mode and that the federal and state parliaments now take the helm," said de Vries WORLD.

“The tried and tested parliamentary procedures in our federal structure should be used.” The states and municipalities would therefore also be obliged to “perform their constitutional tasks with greater commitment and no longer point the finger at the federal government in the event of errors and deficits”.

De Vries criticized a "blame game" that was partly motivated by party politics.

Such a thing has become a "political bad habit" in the Corona crisis and is of no use to anyone.

For federalism, it is also "not good if prime ministers distance themselves from resolutions that they have taken a few hours earlier and whose implementation is constitutionally in their responsibility."

The reactions to the latest resolutions showed that the round of country leaders with the Chancellor was no longer the appropriate form of dealing with it.

"Ad hoc resolutions, which are sometimes made in nightly meetings without scientific evidence, without legal examination and disconnected from the mood of the population, weaken the acceptance of crisis management and promote a loss of confidence in the ability of the state and politics to act," explained de Vries.

As an example, he cited the unsettled demand on the churches to only hold services digitally at Easter.
