What are the blind spots and what do they indicate?

The German Association of Ophthalmologists said that the blind spots are an indication of glaucoma, a disease that particularly attacks the elderly, diabetics and people who suffer from severe myopia.

The association added that glaucoma arises as a result of damage to the optic nerve, which often occurs due to high internal eye pressure.

Initially, patients cannot fully see or only limited certain areas, while central vision remains available, but over time these ranges expand and some patients then become completely blind.

Glaucoma cannot be cured, but disease progression can only be slowed down with eye points or lasers.
