"Pinocchio no longer knowing where to put his nose because it is so long": this is how Charles Scibetta (DIV), outgoing mayor of Carros, near Nice, was described in a satirical newspaper distributed to residents during between the two rounds of municipal elections.

Seized, the administrative court of Nice had the administrative court decided to cancel these elections for the defamatory writings Yannick Bernard, the current mayor, announces this Tuesday that he will challenge the judgment before the Council of State.

He had until Saturday to appeal.

He evokes a decision "unjust and unjustified" which gives "the feeling" of "making pay the small difference of voice" during the second round.

In June, the current mayor was elected with 50.3% of the vote.

According to Yannick Bernard, the opposition has installed a "deleterious" climate without "trying to understand its defeat" while his team "has been working for almost nine months to implement the program for which we were elected".

The 2021 budget is due to be voted on next month.
