Actor Rupert Grint -

Rupert Grint may be infinitely “grateful” to JK Rowling for his work and all that it has given him, he still strongly disagrees with the author when it comes to transgender rights.

“I think she's extremely talented, and I mean, clearly her work is awesome.

But yeah, I also think you can have immense respect for someone and still disagree with things like that, ”

And if Rupert Grint made a point of clarifying, with modesty, that he did not necessarily consider himself able to speak on behalf of the trans community, he nevertheless considers that it is a “precious group that needs to be defend ”.

Without judgement

These statements by Rupert Grint come months after JK Rowling attacked the legitimacy of transgender people.

For the author, who first spoke on Twitter and then in an essay published on her website, transgender women cannot be considered women.

Rupert Grint then joined Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson to oppose the words of the creator of Harry Potter.

“I strongly support the trans community and echo the sentiments expressed by many of my peers.

Trans women are women.

Trans men are men.

We should all have the right to live in love and without judgment, ”Rupert Grint told The
