As the person in charge of the 3D printing bookstore project, Xu Weiguo, a professor at the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, told reporters that the bookstore covers an area of more than 30 square meters and can accommodate about 15 people. It can be used for book display, book clubs, etc.

[Explanation] Xu Weiguo revealed that the concrete used in the 3D printed book house does not contain steel bars, and fiber is added as a tensile material. The performance is similar to or better than ordinary concrete, and it also has a certain degree of earthquake resistance.
The completion of the bookstore proved that it is possible to build houses by 3D printing.

The construction of this bookstore uses the construction method of robot 3D concrete printing.
It is a permanent building, it has a foundation, so from the foundation it is all (3D) printed, and the main part of the upper part is also printed, so this is a different place from the previous concrete 3D printed houses.
As a permanent building, it is safe and its structure is reasonable. It should be said that it has taken the first step.
The completion of its construction proves that the 3D printing method can be used to build houses.
