Saudi Arabia allows Tarawih prayers to be held in the Prophet's Mosque

The Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced, yesterday, Thursday, the opening of the Prophet's Mosque for Tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan, amid preventive precautions.


Abd al-Rahman al-Sudais, head of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, explained that “Tarawih prayers will be held in the Prophet’s Mosque during the blessed month of Ramadan, similar to the assumptions,” noting that the plan of the Prophet’s Mosque Agency for the month of Ramadan includes “programs, targets, alternatives, emergencies and crisis management for the months of Shaban and Ramadan,” in preparation for it. And the days of Eid al-Fitr.


He added: “All the information and targets in the plan were drawn up with cumulative comparisons between the months leading up to the month of Ramadan, and in ways that take into account the impact of the programs and targets of the emerging directives and the intensity of the movement of visitors and worshipers in the Prophet’s Mosque.” According to the precautionary measures ».


According to the plan, the total operating capacity of worshipers during the month of Ramadan will be 60,000 worshipers at one time, as the Prophet’s Mosque accommodates under precautionary measures according to the maximum operational capacity of 45,000 worshipers, and the new western squares that accommodate 15,000 worshipers will be added to the operational capacity.


It also stipulated the closure of the Prophet’s Mosque half an hour after Tarawih prayer, and its opening two hours before the Fajr prayer, with the exception of the last ten days of Ramadan, as the mosque continues to open there around the clock.


Worshipers are allowed to pray in stones, expansions, roofs, and squares, according to a plan of curvature based on densities and the application of precautionary measures, and the performance of prayers inside the old campus and the honorable kindergarten continues to be allocated to the mosque workers and funeral owners.
