China News Service, Guangzhou, March 19 (Author Cai Minjie and Hu Shaohua) With the changes in people's concept of wills, wills are gradually being accepted by the public, and more and more young people have made their wills in advance to make property planning.

The Guangdong Branch of the China Will Bank released the "2020 China Will Bank White Paper" in Guangzhou on the 19th. The white paper shows that the making of wills tends to be younger. Nearly doubled.

It is understood that the China Will Bank is a project co-sponsored by the China Aging Development Foundation and the Beijing Sunshine Geriatric Health Foundation on March 21, 2013.

As of the end of 2020, the China Wills Bank has provided 256,000 will consultations to the society and registered 190,000 wills. At present, a total of 954 wills have been effective.

Making a will is getting younger

The report shows that in 2017, a total of 73 "post-80s" made their wills in the China Will Bank.

By 2020, the total number of "post-80s" wills has reached 503, which has increased by nearly seven times in four years.

Statistics show that the number of "post-80s" who have made wills is on the rise every year.

From the data point of view, the property of the "post-80s" is dominated by real estate, with deposits in the second place.

The report believes that this increase in data has a certain relationship with the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in 2020. As the mainstay of the society, the "post-80s" shoulder family and social pressures, so they have to think about making a will as soon as possible.

The main reasons for "post-80s" to make a will are "to avoid missing property" and "to take care of family members."

In terms of "post-90s", according to statistics, as of the end of 2020, 553 "post-90s" have registered and kept their wills in the China Will Bank.

The report shows that 81.61% of the "post-90s" who have made wills deal with bank deposits, and 71.54% are related to real estate.

Different from testators of other age groups, the inclusion and arrangement of "virtual property" in the will of "post-90s" has become a prominent feature: social platform accounts and other virtual properties are common in "post-90s" wills Property type, followed by securities funds.

As of December 31, 2020, the youngest testator who made a will in the China Will Bank was 17 years old, and "after 00" also began to make a will. Chen Kai, director of the China Will Bank Management Committee, believes that it is no longer a certain age to make a will Paragraph of "patents".

The rapid growth of young and middle-aged wills

Statistics show that from 2017 to 2020, the total number of wills of young and middle-aged people registered in the China Will Bank is 4190.

The overall number of young and middle-aged testators has grown rapidly, with the growth rate rising from 29.97% in 2017 to 54.12% in 2020.

Among them, people aged 50 to 59 account for the highest proportion, accounting for 31.55%.

Among the young and middle-aged people making wills, the number of women is significantly higher than that of men.

Women accounted for 60.72% and men accounted for 39.28%.

In terms of regional distribution, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou is the main area, and the data for other cities is slightly lower.

The number of young and middle-aged people who made wills in various regions maintained a continuous growth momentum.

"It is worth noting that 4% of testators do not have real estate under their names. This phenomenon shows that some young and middle-aged people have gradually realized the importance of making a will, and even if there is no major asset like real estate, they have made arrangements in advance. "Chen Kai said.

The inheritance ratio of property to children is decreasing year by year

White paper data shows that from 2013 to 2020, most of the heirs involved in a will are spouses or children; data shows that the proportion of "children inherited directly" has been decreasing year by year, while the proportion of "spouses inherit first, children then inherit" has increased year by year .

According to the report, people are beginning to generally realize that it is necessary to give priority to ensuring a happy life for their spouses in their later years.

Direct inheritance by grandchildren accounted for 11.67%.

The distribution plan that chooses "child direct inheritance" has declined, and the proportion of people who choose "other distribution plan" has increased year by year, indicating that the choice of distribution plan is more diverse.

Chen Kai said that after the Civil Code introduced the concept of "right of residence", citizens can determine the distribution of real estate to their children by making a will to prevent the outflow of property due to spouses remarrying after their death, and it can also be established through wills. The "right of residence" guarantees that the spouse can still enjoy the right of residence after his death and prevents his children from selling the house in advance.
