The departmental security of the Alpes-Maritimes seized on Monday more than 13 kg of ecstasy, 9 kg of cocaine, 4 kg of MDMA, 2 kg of herbal cannabis, almost 2 kg of ketamine and 1 kg of mephedrone.
The confinement would multiply the distribution of these drugs in clandestine parties for wealthy audiences, according to the deputy commissioner for departmental security of the Alpes-Maritimes.
"This affair is surprising by the quantity of the products but especially by the personality of the dealer", indicates Aurélien Froger, deputy commissioner for the departmental security of the Alpes-Maritimes.
On Monday, an individual was arrested in the Nice sector.
He held 189,825 euros of goods: more than 13 kg of ecstasy, 9 kg of cocaine, 4 kg of MDMA, 2 kg of herbal cannabis, almost 2 kg of ketamine and 1 kg of mephedrone.
He had been acting alone for two years.
The 25-year-old man has "built an extremely profitable business," said the commissioner.
“He was unknown to our services.
He started from nothing and had no knowledge in the field.
It all started after a change in professional life.
He started on the dark net to gain access to products and suppliers.
Usually, we are dealing more with small companies.
There, we are faced with a self-employed person ”.
And like a store, it had its opening and closing times.
Drugs circulating in underground parties, without control
The young entrepreneur was "attentive to the demands of his customers".
He offered them a wide variety of products of very good quality.
"He could change suppliers if it was not satisfactory."
Another peculiarity, "he was not a consumer, he was only reselling".
“He has managed to have his own regular clientele of around 30 people.
As these are quite expensive products, from 10 to 20 euros per ecstasy tablet, we can conclude that customers came from a fairly high socio-professional category and for festive consumption.
You have to have the means to take this kind of drug, ”continues Aurélien Froger.
According to the commissioner, confinement has increased the possibilities of disseminating this drug.
“There is a lot less vigilance.
In the underground evenings, everything is allowed.
With the sanitary measures, it is more difficult to carry out checks ”.
He congratulated the investigators for having made it possible "to remove from the city and its surroundings this quantity of extremely dangerous hard drugs".
Three people were arrested.
