Born in Ljubljana, now the capital of Slovenia, Brina Svit has been living in France for a long time.
Author of several books in Slovene, she now writes in French, and her work consisting of novels, stories and short stories is published by Gallimard editions.
Her new book “The God of Obstacles” recounts the unexpected experience she had last year in India, when the pandemic interrupted her health stay.

“When Brina Svit landed in India to treat her back pain, she didn't think she had to face the mischievous spirit of obstacles.
She, who had never undergone Ayurvedic treatment, has no idea what to expect, nor who she will have to live with behind the large portal of the center. But no one is immune to anything! Neither the doctoresses with generous smiles, nor the splendid trees of the tropical forest, nor the crows of the clearing will appease this god of obstacles and thunder who shakes the world.
Only the romantic power of Brina Svit will answer it. And especially in the form of riddles, which run through his story: Only what is good for all is worthy of you. Only needs to be produced which favors neither lowers person. "
