[Concurrent] Hong Kong Youth Huang Xihua
As a young man in Hong Kong, I am very pleased with the Central People’s Congress’ decision to improve Hong Kong’s electoral system. This is what Hong Kong urgently needs now.
[Commentary] The young man in the picture is called Huang Xihua, a Hong Kong "post-90s".
After graduating with a master's degree in social work from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015, he has worked in the social work industry and is now a faculty member in a school.
As a Hong Kong youth who was born and raised in Hong Kong, Huang Xihua has personally experienced the turbulence in Hong Kong society in the past few years.
[Explanation] The "Occupy Central" incident occurred in Hong Kong in 2014.
Huang Xihua's Department of Social Work, CUHK established a workshop to investigate social issues from an academic level.
As one of the few students in the team who stood up and opposed the "Occupy Central", Huang Xihua was isolated and criticized by his classmates at that time. Friends who had known him for many years even parted with him publicly, and have since severed contact.
But what he didn't expect was that after five years, during the "Regulations Amendment Disturbance" in 2019, his voice of "opposing violence" in the media caused his classmates who had been out of touch for many years to reappear in his social circle.

Many old classmates who haven't been in contact for more than ten years have all appeared under this article, whipping me alone because I don't support violent behavior.
After this report, I did not talk about any political topics on my Facebook.
And these so-called pains that I have endured are just a drop in the bucket. In the past few years from 2019 to 2020, for many of us who love our country and Hong Kong, we don't want to say it or dare not say it.
[Explanation] Huang Xihua bluntly said that in the past two years, patriots in Hong Kong have been under tremendous pressure.
Although he has seldom spoken out in public since then, he has always insisted on maintaining communication with young Hong Kong people who have taken to the streets.
He confessed that most of his peers had prematurely shouldered the burden, wages could not escape inflation, the gap between the rich and the poor, and the deep-seated social conflicts that could not be alleviated, etc., which made some young people feel confused and uneasy.
But he believes that the way to solve the problem is to learn more and improve oneself, not to promote violence and trample on the law.
In Huang Xihua's view, the "patriots ruling Hong Kong" proposed by the National People's Congress this time is an important opportunity to strengthen the education of Hong Kong's youth.

If we are not "patriots ruling Hong Kong", the principal and teachers decide what education the students receive. If they want to solve their lack of awareness of politics and their lack of awareness of the country, national education must be re-allocated into the school's compulsory subjects , You don’t learn, and you don’t know the meaning behind it, and you have fear. It’s a stupid thing for you to blame others for your own anxiety and fear. In layman’s terms, you don’t blame me for what you read. Right?
[Explanation] In recent years, the social unrest in Hong Kong has pushed the issue of youth education to the forefront of public opinion.
Huang Xihua believes that the content of Hong Kong's education system for Chinese history and national system has been in a state of long-term lack. In the past few years, it has even declined year by year. This has caused some students to have a serious lack of understanding of the country. This is the source of many social problems.

When I was still in middle school.
We have a subject called Chinese History, which is compulsory and taught until the third grade of junior high school.
After the fourth grade of middle school, I took it as an elective course. By the time I graduated, it was gone and became a general education course.
The ratio of education in China's history and our current national system has been drastically reduced.
We did not tell our students to know, without educating our students, what is our country like?
What is our policy?
What kind of system is implemented.
Those on the Internet are what they say. Educational problems can only be solved through education.
[Explanation] Born and raised in Hong Kong, and spent four years in university in the Mainland, Huang Xihua is even more aware of the necessity of promoting exchanges and understanding between the youth of the two places because of this unforgettable experience.
Now he has gone from a student to an educator.
He believes that in addition to encouraging young people from Hong Kong to go to the Mainland for exchanges, it is also important for young people to start in Hong Kong to understand and understand the country's system.
[Concurrent] Hong Kong Youth Huang Xihua
We want to encourage them to start from Hong Kong to understand our country, and from Hong Kong to understand our country’s systems, because Hong Kong is a part of China, you have the responsibility and obligation to understand the systems and policies of the land on which you live. .
