An investigation has been opened into rape charges against American actor Armie Hammer, Los Angeles police said Thursday, after a complaint filed by a young woman with whom he was having an affair.

Abused "mentally, emotionally and sexually"

The 24-year-old, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Effie, detailed her accusations Thursday morning at a virtual press conference hosted by her lawyer, Gloria Allred.

She claims in particular to have been "brutally raped" for more than four hours in 2017. The young woman adds that Armie Hammer, whom she had met on Facebook the previous year, would have hit her several times during this assault. head against a wall and hit the feet with a riding crop.
