  • Mother of four children, Magali Blandin has been missing for more than a month in Montfort-sur-Meu, near Rennes.

  • On Thursday, her husband, from whom she has been separated for several months, was taken into police custody.

  • This hearing would focus on the attempted extortion of which the husband had been the subject a few weeks ago.

Five people were taken into custody on Sunday.

The investigation is progressing and has seen several twists in recent times.

A little over a month after the disappearance of Magali Blandin.

This 42-year-old woman and mother of four has not given any sign of life since she left her home in Montfort-sur-Meu, near Rennes, on February 11.

Thursday, it was her husband, from whom she had been separated for several months, who was taken into custody, learned 20 Minutes from the prosecution, confirming information from Ouest-France.

According to our information, this hearing is linked to the attempted extortion of which Magali Blandin's husband was the victim a few weeks ago.

Sunday, four men and a woman aged 17 to 45 were arrested by the GIGN in the district of Maurepas, in Rennes, and placed in police custody.

The ex-spouse of the disappeared had explained to investigators that he "felt threatened" and that he had been "the victim of an attempted extortion for a sum of 15,000 euros" on February 25.

His placement in police custody would relate to this case.

As for his implication in the disappearance, it remains mysterious.

Strong tensions within the couple

At the start of the investigation, the husband was exonerated by the gendarmes, who analyzed his schedule and his movements.

“Checks were made with the husband.

They did not reveal, in the state, no element associating it with this disappearance or suggesting its presence in Montfort-sur-Meu at the time of the facts ”, explained the parquet floor at the end of February.

The investigation had revealed "strong tensions" within the couple, in particular about the question of resources.

Magali Blandin had left the home of Bain-de-Bretagne in September to settle in Montfort-sur-Meu.

"We do not favor any hypothesis and all avenues remain open," insists Colonel Sébastien Jaudon since the disappearance.

According to our information, Magali Blandin "was not doing very well psychologically".

More than a month after her disappearance, she remains nowhere to be found.
