Emer Cooke, EMA's Executive Director, explained that “a number of options” are possible, depending on the outcome of the expert assessment.

Asked about the possibility of a vaccine suspension, she replied, "If we believe there is a problem that cannot be fixed, we will take the necessary steps to correct it."

The EMA could also issue an "additional warning" for the use of the vaccine, said the director.
