Beyoncé also received two prizes in the nominations dedicated to the rap genre - for the song Savage, recorded in a duet with Megan Thee Stallion, the singers were awarded in the categories of Best Performance and Best Song.

Several Grammy categories are dedicated to compositions for film, television, video games and other visual projects.

The prize for the best soundtrack went to Hildur Goodnadouttir, the author of the musical score for Todd Phillips's "Joker".

Previously, for this work, she was awarded the Oscar, Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe, BAFTA and others.

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell took the award for the song No Time To Die, which was recorded for the film No Time to Die.

The most outstanding music video was the video for the song by Beyoncé, WizKid and Blue Ivy Carter Brown Skin Girl.

This year's awards earned Beyoncé the title of the most titled artist in the history of the award.

For the best album of contemporary Christian music, the award was taken by Kanye West - he presented the album Jesus Is King.

In 2021, two Russians were nominated for a Grammy.

Pianist Daniil Trifonov nominated for the award in the category "Best solo performance of a classical work on a musical instrument" for recording the album Destination Rachmaninov - Arrival.

He lost to violinist Richard O'Neill.

Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa nominated six awards, and Roddy Rich received the same number of nominations (twice for Best Rap Song and Best Performance (Melodic Rap)).

In November 2020, after the announcement of the list of nominees, the singer The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) accused the organizers of the award of corruption and said that the selection process should become more transparent.

The musician has not received a single nomination.

In social networks, Tesfaye was supported by Elton John, who called the composition The Weeknd Blinding Lights worthy of the main prizes - for the record of the year and the song of the year.

Performer Halsey, who was also not nominated for the 2021 award, also called for more transparency in the selection.

She noted that the award is not always awarded for achievements in the field of music or culture in general - it is often a political issue.

In March, Zayn Malik decided to attract attention to his person in connection with the upcoming ceremony.

He wrote on Twitter that only those artists who are on friendly terms with the organizers can receive the nomination, and promised to send them a box of sweets.

However, Malik could not qualify for the award this year, since he did not have releases that met the requirements for the award.

The Grammy ceremony in 2021 included both performances by artists directly at the Los Angeles Convention Center and pre-recorded numbers: this was necessary to comply with protocols aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.

Four separate stages were organized for the artists who performed their songs at the event (and one more was occupied by the presenters).

Executive Producer Bill Winston of the show also included video greetings from the management of independent music venues this year to support smaller industry players.
