  The Guozhai Museum (formerly known as Xinyuan Lu) was built in 1920, a hundred years ago.

Not only did Kerry Group chairman and founder of Shangri-La Hotel, Guo Henian walk out, but also cultivated the first academician in the field of Chinese automotive engineering, Guo Qinrong’s grandson and Guo Henian’s cousin, Guo Konghui.

The name of the museum was inscribed by the Chinese business leader "Asian Sugar King" Guo Henian.

  At the unveiling event, the academician Guo Konghui of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, who was born and grew up in this private house, specially recorded a video to express his congratulations.

He mentioned, “Xinyuan House has experienced the two fall of Fuzhou and the restoration and liberation of hometown. Now it is nearly ninety years old. It is fortunate to have experienced and witnessed Xinyuan House’s changes in honor, shame and rejuvenation. Now it continues to carry as a museum. The development and change of her hometown, as a platform for her hometown to remember history, accumulate culture, and inspire future generations, finally has her best destination...".

  Entering the Guozhai Museum, it seems to have opened up a magnificent historical picture of Guozhai for a thousand years. Lively scenes and vivid characters come into view: from Guo Ziyi in the Tang Dynasty to the suppression of the Anshi chaos, to the 18 warriors fighting in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty The Japanese pirates resisted foreign invasions, and then the three martyrs died in the Huanghuagang Uprising of 1911, and the anti-Japanese hero Guo Qishan died bravely. They can't help but sigh the heroic spirit of the Guo family's sons and daughters.

  The Guozhai Museum carries the history of a thousand-year-old village. It is a nostalgic memory that every Guozhai person can linger on.

"We are very concerned about the entire construction process of the museum. This is an unforgettable event for our village!" Guo Qinyu, a villager, told reporters that the museum records thousands of years of history and preserves the memories of the past, covering various historical achievements.   There are 8 chapters in the museum. On the first floor is a chapter about ethnic sages, which tells about the origin of the "Guo" surname, the history of the establishment of Guozhai Village, and the celebrities of the past.

On the second floor, there are 4 chapters including cultural relics and historical sites, family traditions, teaching and bamboo weaving craftsmanship. It introduces more than 30 cultural relics and historical buildings in Guozhai Village, the story of Guozhai people's education and talents, the development history of Guozhai's intangible heritage bamboo weaving crafts and Guozhai's home Feng family motto and traditional culture.

  Yang Lunwu, secretary of the Party Committee of Gaishan Town, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, said that the Guozhai Museum is now serving as a base for activities for the alumni of Peking University and Tsinghua University, and a heritage base for guqin and bamboo weaving intangible heritage.

The museum will hold regular activities to let the masses walk in and make the ancient house come alive.

To further strengthen the concept of cultural self-confidence, Cangshan District combines the construction of the village museum with the activation and utilization of cultural relics and historical buildings to invigorate the cultural heritage while injecting new life into the ancient buildings.
