[Explanation] On March 14, the off-campus counseling station of Bigang Village, Yushan Town, Xiangzhou District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province welcomed more than 30 left-behind children.

[Explanation] After the short class opening ceremony that day ended, Liu Bangyin and several retired teachers began to tutor the left-behind children.

The reporter found that among the left-behind children, there are three or four-year-old kindergarten children, and 6 to 15-year-old primary and secondary school students.

[Explanation] Bi Tianyu, who was in the eighth grade this year, told reporters that her parents are working in other places. Most of the time, she lives with her grandparents.

From the first day of the junior high school, every weekend or winter and summer vacation, she will come to this off-campus counseling station.

The teachers here can help me solve many learning difficulties. Outside of class, they will tell us many red stories, play games with us, and tutor our homework. I am very happy to be able to study here.

I am more than 70 years old. As long as I am in good health, I will run this remedial class well.

[Explanation] In Xiahe Village, Yushan Town, Xu Zhengguo, a retired teacher, also opened an off-campus counseling station.

Different from Bigang Village, this counseling station is located in Xu Zhengguo's home.

A small farmyard, several brick houses, the top one is the classroom.

In addition to a dozen desks and chairs and a small blackboard inside the house, children's graffiti are everywhere on the mottled walls.

When I see someone else’s grandson, I see my own grandson, playing in the water, climbing trees, and eating fruits.

Sometimes, how many children are drowning in the water when playing with the water!

Organize students to a tutorial station to learn, the first one can learn knowledge, the second one has a sense of security, so I said I want to run this tutorial station.

[Commentary] Liu Bangyin and Xu Zhengguo are both members of the first party branch of retired cadres in Yushan Town.

[Explanation] In recent years, with the increase of migrant workers, left-behind children generally face the "five few problems": lack of family communication, lack of care in life, lack of discipline in action, lack of guidance in learning, and lack of safety guarantees.

The first party branch of retired cadres in Yushan Town called on retired old party members in the branch to establish family off-campus counseling stations in the central village of the town, and successively established 10 central village off-campus counseling stations, including Xinghuo Village, Bigang Village, and Wangzui Village.

[Concurrent] Zhou Weihe, Secretary of the First Party Branch of Retired Cadres in Yushan Town

The first off-campus tutoring station was established in 2014. Up to now, we have built a total of 10 tutoring stations in the past 18 years.

The more than 3,500 students we sent away.
