A new screening is scheduled for the week at Muret prison.

41 cases of Covid-19 have already been detected in this prison in the south of Toulouse, reports France Bleu Occitanie.

It was the British variant that interfered in the detention center, which accommodates around 600 detainees.

The disease has affected a majority of prisoners, but half a dozen monitors are also positive.

The operation of the structure has necessarily been reviewed.

Inmates can usually move around the establishment to go to their activities.

A third of the buildings have been closed, the radio said.

Additional security personnel were mobilized in the face of the increased risk of tensions.
