Due to drastic delivery problems with the corona vaccine from Astrazeneca, Thuringia is temporarily stopping appointments for vaccinations and postponing the start of vaccinations for general practitioners.

Thuringia's Minister of Health Heike Werner (Linke) described the announced delivery cut as "absolutely unacceptable", as Werner's ministry announced on Saturday.

The manufacturer Astrazeneca announced on Friday that instead of the last targeted 220 million cans, only 100 million should be delivered to the EU countries by the middle of the year.

The group justified this with export restrictions, among other things.

The next week and the following week 31,200 Astrazeneca vaccination doses were to be delivered to Thuringia.

According to the Ministry of Health, it will now only be 9,600.

According to a survey by the German Association of Judges, the results of which are available to “Spiegel”, the constitutional and administrative courts have checked the corona orders of the federal government, states and municipalities in more than 10,000 proceedings.

The owners of cinemas and restaurants, hotels and concert organizers, fitness studios and amusement arcades also resisted the corona regulations.

Legal experts warn that due to corona-related postponements, a mountain of proceedings is piling up in the courts.

"The rule of law is in jeopardy in some places," said the Berlin chief public prosecutor Ralph Knipsel the magazine.

"The pandemic relentlessly shows the deficits that we already had in the judiciary."
