Coronavirus: Sanofi launches the first human trials of its second vaccine

Sanofi is advancing on its No. 2 vaccine, while the first is still in the testing phase after falling behind in its development.

The French pharmaceutical group announced on Friday the launch of the first trials on humans of its second vaccine project against Covid-19.

"Sanofi and Translate Bio", an American biotech associated with the French, "are starting a 1/2 clinical trial devoted to their candidate-messenger RNA vaccine against Covid-19," the group announced in a press release.

The Phase 1 and 2 trials are the first to be performed on humans as part of the development of a treatment.
