Recently, the Dutch engineer Laudvik Odense, who invented the cassette tape, passed away in the Netherlands at the age of 94.
Odense joined Philips in 1952 after obtaining an engineering degree.
Eight years later, he took over the company's product development department.
Within a year, he and his team developed the first portable tape recorder.
In 1963, Odense invented the cassette tape.
Odense later participated in the invention of the CD disc.
