Scientists: Corona's consequences may reach gangrene

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" published a report on a group of scientists from Northwestern University saying that some very dire consequences have appeared for some patients recovering from the "Corona" virus.

Scientists reported that as a result of joint, muscle, and blood circulation problems for those recovering from Corona, they may develop gangrene and in some cases, up to amputation.

Citing many cases of coronavirus that led to gangrene and then amputations, "he said.

According to the newspaper, the report provides data on an Italian woman who lost three fingers after being infected with the Coronavirus, and her blood vessels were damaged.

Her problem was investigated using CT, MRI and ultrasound.

While the result confirmed to scientists and doctors that shortness of breath and loss of smell are not all health problems caused by Corona.

In this context, the scientists said that the joints are not directly attacked by the virus itself, but it is blood clotting and thus the normal blood supply to the extremities is interrupted in response to the body’s response to the so-called "cytokine storm."
