Kanagawa Prefecture announced that it has been confirmed that seven men living in the prefecture have been infected with the mutated coronavirus that is spreading in the United Kingdom.

According to the prefecture, seven men in their teens to 40s who lived in the prefecture were confirmed to be infected, and none of them had a history of staying abroad.

In February, seven people were confirmed to be infected and were found to be mutant viruses during screening tests in the prefecture and extensive examination of other patients involved.

Five of them have already been treated and the other two are asymptomatic.

Of the seven, two men in their teens and two men in their twenties and thirties have been confirmed to be connected, but the other three have different transmission routes.

A person in charge of the prefecture said, "It seems that the infection of the mutant virus is spreading to some extent in the town."

In the prefecture, people infected with the mutant virus spreading in South Africa and the United Kingdom have been confirmed one after another, and the total number is 22.
