The Ministry of Health and the Autonomous Communities have finally agreed this Wednesday, with the vote against the Community of Madrid, to
close the autonomies between March 17 and 21 on the perimeter
in those territories where it is a holiday on March 19 over the San José bridge,
and from March 26 to April 9 for Holy Week
, according to
sources from the meeting of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System
have informed
Europa Press
.
All the autonomies, except Madrid, have positioned themselves in favor of the document that the Interterritorial Council had to approve this Wednesday and, in addition, some alternative wording has been agreed related to the fact that the communities
that have more restrictive measures can continue to maintain them on these dates .
The Madrid Minister of Health,
Enrique Ruiz Escudero
, has assured Efe that the community is
not going to close the perimeter
either on the José bridge or at Easter.
This decision of the regional government
is based on the decree of the state of alarm
that gives the power to adopt this decision to the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
"It is a country agreement,"
said
Carolina Darias
, the Minister of Health, on the measures for the festivities of San José and Easter after meeting with the autonomies.
"We have reached an agreement, a great agreement that means another step in
co-governance
."
The measures will be gathered in a ministerial order "of obligatory fulfillment", said the minister.
"We proceed to the perimeter closure"
with the exception of the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.
In addition, there will be "limitation of mobility at night time", he explained, "at most from 11:00 pm to 06:00 am".
Meetings are limited to "a maximum of four in closed public spaces and six in open spaces," while "in closed spaces, they will be limited to cohabitants."
The communities that so wish will be able to restrict these measures more, Darias recalled:
"It is a minimum agreement."
"The Government acts to stop Madrid"
Catalonia has abstained in the vote of the Interterritorial Health Council because it believes that the Spanish government
"only wants to act when the holidays arrive and the rest of the year washes its hands,"
explained sources from the Department of Health.
The secretary of the Ministry of Health,
Marc Ramentol
, has been the Catalan representative in the inter-territorial council that has debated the measures that will be relaxed and those that will be maintained in the face of Easter.
In this sense, sources from the Generalitat have regretted that the government
"once again acts to stop Madrid's feet, but for nothing else"
, referring to the fact that the Madrid community is in favor of opening its community while the rest of Autonomous communities are in favor of maintaining the autonomic perimeter.
Ramentol has also been dissatisfied with reducing the maximum number of people from 6 to 4 because in Catalonia the limitation of six people has been applied since the second wave
"and it has worked to reduce infections".
The Catalan secretary general has insisted that the closure of all communities be maintained
and that the curfew begins at 10 pm and remains the same during the holidays
.
He has also defended once again the need to eliminate the 55-year limit to administer the AstraZeneca vaccine, to which the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, according to the Generalitat, has responded
that the issue will be studied tomorrow
in the presentation of vaccines and in the Public Health commission.
Ministerial order
The measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus during Holy Week will be regulated by a ministerial order that will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) to prevent each autonomous community from
making "a coat of their coat" as happened at Christmas.
It has been advanced by the Andalusian Minister of Health and Families,
Jesús Aguirre
, during his appearance before the Plenary of the Parliament of Andalusia to report on the implementation of the vaccination strategy of the Board against COVID-19, as well as the evolution of the pandemic in Andalusia.
Aguirre, who has participated in the meeting of the Interterritorial Health Commission until he has had to appear before the plenary session, has assured that Andalusia has asked that the measures be adopted through a ministerial order so that the strategy is unique
" and as cohesive as possible
", a request that" the minister has responded to. "
