Three women and a man, suspected of having forced two runaway teenagers to prostitute themselves in their apartments, have been indicted for aggravated pimping, the prosecution of Saint-Etienne (Loire) announced on Wednesday.

A 46-year-old man under guardianship, a 50-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter were imprisoned.

Another 19-year-old woman has been placed under judicial supervision.

The victims, aged 13 and 14, were on the run from the homes where they were placed, in Lyon and Saint-Etienne, when they were accommodated by the four implicated at the end of last year.

Ten to twenty clients per day

“It was after an anonymous information reached the police that an investigation was opened at the end of February.

It found that the two victims were prostituting themselves in apartments located in two districts of the city, via Internet sites ”, declared the public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne, David Charmatz, during a press conference. .

The phone number to which the online ads were linked received up to 1,000 calls, to 10 to 20 customers per day, according to investigators.

Stressing that this is the first time that a case of procuring on minors as young has been brought to light in the Saint-Etienne region, the Saint-Etienne prosecutor added that investigators would now look for clients, "who incur up to seven years in prison, against fifteen years in prison for pimps ”.

The victims were again placed.
