She is 103 years old and she is the patron of a bar in Isbergues.

Marie-Lou, emblematic figure of Pas-de-Calais, was vaccinated against Covid-19 a few days ago at the Béthune hospital.

And now she only dreams of one thing: regaining a normal life and going back to restaurants very quickly.

At 103, she's never been sick, but she's still a little rebellious.

Marie-Lou, owner of a bar in Isbergues in Pas-de-Calais, was initially not very excited about the Covid-19 vaccination.

Yet she finally received the treatment last weekend and now sees a return to normal life.

"I didn't feel anything"

"I have never been vaccinated, neither for the flu, nor for nothing," admits the centenarian.

Yet her doctor did succeed in convincing her.

"By force I no longer dared to say no. It was more out of politeness," she laughs.

So Marie-Lou took advantage of the massive vaccinations organized last weekend at the Béthune hospital to receive treatment.

Since then, she says she is delighted.

"It went very well, the lady gave me the shot. She's really an angel because it was over and I hadn't felt anything yet. I told her she was an artist! ", says the old lady.

And even when she rubs her shoulder, Marie-Lou has no pain or side effects.

"Sometimes I forget that I was vaccinated. It's as if when you're old, you don't feel anything anymore."

"What I miss is going to a restaurant"

Proud all the same to have given the example, Marie-Lou, who often repeats that the good Lord does not want her, assures to have never been afraid of the Covid.

"Me, I am fatalist. It happens what must happen, it is written. I tell myself that in life everything is working out. Good or bad, but everything is working out," she says.

At least this vaccine may soon allow her to resume a normal life.

"It annoys a lot of people to be locked up, continues the centenarian. What I miss the most is going to a restaurant."

But before returning there in the company of his eternal friend Marie-Pierre, he will at least have to wait until his second injection, scheduled for next month.
