spring breeze is blowing slowly even in the frozen performance world due to Corona 19.

There are performers who comforted classical music fans by performing various methods such as online concerts during difficult times.

I was with the pianist Jeong-won Kim.

Q. Corona impact on the classical performance world...

How was it?

[Kim Jung-won/Pianist: I would have been embarrassed and confused because it was the first time that the corona situation occurred to anyone, but we could say that it was a direct hit because we had to gather a lot of audiences on the stage to play.]

Q. Overseas performances Would have been canceled a lot?

[Kim Jeong-won/Pianist: In my case, the schedules that were personally held last year were mainly in Italy, England, Germany, and European countries, but most of them were postponed or canceled.

In fact, the performance is a situation where we can't look ahead after preparing the performance because it takes several months to prepare once, so we did the preparation until the end and the last minute, and then canceled a week or a few days in advance. Getting it.

Then, after another one or two months to prepare for the next concert, I was notified of the cancellation again, and this was repeated, so I spent my time in a very exhausted and difficult state.]

Q. Online performance without an audience………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

How did you feel?

[Kim Jeong-won/Pianist: Actually, when I first performed an online performance, I had experience in broadcasting or recording, so I thought it would be similar if I played without an audience. I didn't know it would be a big hindrance to being nervous, lonely, and not having breathing cycles with the audience while playing.

So, it was also an opportunity to realize the importance of the audience who were sitting in the auditorium at that time.

However, after that, as online became a little more common, I gradually adjusted, and later, the psychological comfort of being with an audience behind the camera, meeting through a LAN line, and connecting in real time helped to adapt. Yo.

In a way, I think that we are very fortunate and grateful that we are going through such a difficult situation with such a civilization developed.]

Q. A Canadian classic critic praised it...

How did you feel?

[Kim Jung-won/Pianist: Actually, it's my record, but it's a record I forgot.

It's a record 15 years ago, and it's all of Chopin's 24 etude practice songs.

It was a great gift after hearing the news.

In fact, for our performers, the stage is a very hard preparation and disappears with time, so sometimes there is a feeling of collapse, and the record is what kind of record and the record of my life means personally.

But this time, after listening to an album that has been 15 years old, he praised me like this, so I felt the value and meaning of the recording anew.

Still, I thought I wanted to leave as many records as I could, even though I was on stage.]

Q. Rachmaninov Concerto No. 5 Album...

What was the release story?

[Kim Jung-won/Pianist: Actually, that work is also very unforgettable for me.

Rachmaninov originally wrote four piano concertos.

So, the song No. 5 was not a song that actually existed, but a work arranged in the form of a piano and an orchestra playing together after the death of Rachmaninoff's symphony No. 2 written only for the orchestra.

At that time, I was fortunate enough to take on an important task, so I recorded at Eviod Studios in England with the London Symphony.

The recordings remain, so it's a very memorable work for me.]

Q. Working with popular musicians...

What synergy do you get?

[Kim Jeong-won/Pianist: Actually, many people are interested in it, but to be honest, rather than a crossover over a genre wall or a concept like this...

To me, both are old friends over 20 years.

In fact, when people who do music meet with their friends, the most enjoyable play is the ensemble.

So when we actually meet, we have a drink at home, play the piano, sing and play. It started with the meaning of letting our joy be transferred to the stage and shared with the audience.

However, even though the genre is different, it seems that any seriousness or fierceness that we have about the music always stimulates each other.]

Q. In the 20th year of our debut…

What are your wishes as a performer?

[Kim Jeong-won/Pianist: Actually, the work of playing is inevitably functional, so over time, the fingers become a little slower or the physical strength becomes a little more difficult than before. Contrary to the regression of people, there is an annual relationship that is gained from the various experiences that you experience as you age and in your life. As I grow older, I think that it is different from my 30s. I think I'd be very grateful if you watch with interest in how the music changes as the musician ages and what kind of story they are talking about.

My big dream is to take good care of my health and play for a long time.]
