According to an Ifop poll for
Le Journal du Dimanche
, only one in five French people think that the former president was treated less well than a simple citizen.
And nearly eight out of ten see badly how Nicolas Sarkozy will be able to run for the next presidential election.
In detail, 78% of French people believe that this former president - the first of the Fifth Republic to have been sentenced to prison for corruption - was treated as, or even better than, a simple citizen.
78% also believe that this conviction may constitute an obstacle to his possible candidacy for the presidential election next year, which is also the case for 72% of right-wing supporters.
As the
JDD points out
, "
for the right-wing people too, the page Sarkozy is turning
."
After the conviction of the former president, the right having concentrated its attacks on the National Financial Prosecutor's Office, which it accuses of having played a political role in the trial, former President François Hollande "
does not accept the repeated attacks against justice
and its independence
”.
Nicolas Sarkozy's successor said so in an interview with
Parisien Dimanche
, deploring that the Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti did not defend "
immediately the judicial institution
".
A conviction like a thunderclap in France
It “
shakes our institutions.
And put the policy KO
, admits
L'Express
.
Even if Nicolas Sarkozy appealed, "
the
damage is done, which shakes our institutions
", deplores this weekly, stressing "
the seriousness of the situation
" because, still laments
L'Express
, it is "
a certain idea of the Fifth Republic which passed away on
March
1 , 2021
”.
By way of conclusion, this magazine notes that "
the long history between Nicolas Sarkozy and politics ends badly
(...)
It is also in this that we recognize the end of an era
", he professes, while noting that Nicolas Sarkozy is "
the oldest President of the Republic still alive
".
A real epitaph before the hour signed
L'Express
.
Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen neck and neck according to a survey
More saliva than ink, because unpublished (!), This survey by the Harris Interactive institute.
“
It's the poll that obsesses politicians.
All
”, launches the weekly
Challenges
.
According to him, in the second round of the presidential election of 2022, "
the duel Emmanuel Macron-Marine Le Pen could be played this time in a pocket handkerchief
".
This survey "
marked the spirits
(...)
changed looks, changed the situation, upset the cards
, says this magazine.
In the great
"game"
of the 2022 presidential election, there is indeed a before and after the
"Harris"
which gives, in the event of a second round 52-48 in favor of Emmanuel Macron in front of Marine Le Pen.
Or, taking into account the famous margin of error of 2 points, a 50-50!
, point this magazine.
The victory of the extreme right within reach of ballots
, ”
summarizes
Challenges
.
"
U
n poll shock
'
bids
Values Current
, at Harris Interactive, one concedes:"
Marine Le Pen can win
"(...)
to the right, some voters would be less reluctant to turn to it
(...)
On the left, the speech of the Head of State no longer convinces and his ministers from this wing no longer have much voice,
”explains this opinion weekly classified very to the right of the French political spectrum.
“
Is the French far right at the gates of power?
"Asks
Le Point accordingly
, portraying Marine Le Pen"
like a rising sea
".
So ?
So this weekly warns.
“
Beware of the sleeping water
,” he says, “
the current serenity of gentle France, on parole for a year, is very misleading.
There is something electric beneath its flabby appearance and several crises will undoubtedly erupt when, deconfined, it will finally be able to find the open air
”,
states
Le Point
, of a very wrecking prophecy ...
