1-The Rover Perseverance has covered its first meters

A small step for the rover, a big step for robotics.

Arriving on Mars, NASA's Perseverance rover successfully moved its body, or, say, spun its wheels on Mars for the first time since landing two weeks ago.

During this first trip made Thursday afternoon, and intended to check the proper functioning of the system, the vehicle, equipped with six wheels, advanced 4 meters, then made a rotation on itself to the left, before turning perform a rearward maneuver for approximately 2.5 meters.

2- Investigation opened after posters accusing teachers of Islamophobia in Grenoble

Two professors from Science Po Grenoble saw their names plastered on posters pasted on the walls of the establishment, with these sentences: "Islamophobia kills", "fascists in our lecture halls".

The public prosecutor of the city, Eric Vaillant, announced, to have ordered an investigation for facts "of public insult to an individual by word, writing, image or means of communication to the public by electronic means".

And "degradation or slight deterioration of property intended for utility or public decoration by inscription, sign or design".

The teachers are accused by a union of having made discriminatory remarks, which they dispute.

The prosecution, charged the Grenoble police station with the investigation.

Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education condemned “attempts at pressure and intimidation.

3- Death of the dancer Patrick Dupond

A star has died.

The former Paris Opera dancer and dance star Patrick Dupond died on Friday at the age of 61 from a "devastating illness", his entourage announced.

Patrick Dupond was one of the greatest stars of the Paris Opera and of dance in general in France, known to the general public.

Crowned at the age of 21, star of the Opera, his qualities had seduced the greatest choreographers, from Roland Petit to Maurice Béjart who created for him.

In 2000, he was the victim of a serious car accident, leaving with 134 fractures and a shattered dancing career.

He returned as a juror in the show

4- Evacuation of crowded Seine quays in Paris

The police evacuated in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday the quays of the Seine in Paris where the sun and the mild temperature had attracted Parisians in numbers who did not respect the barrier gestures during this period of heavy traffic of the Covid-19.

Alcohol consumption had also been prohibited on the quays of the Seine and the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as in several other places in the capital.

However, voices are being raised to give wide access to the outdoors and to stop being indignant at seeing people outside.

5- Protests continue in Burma, despite deadly raids

The crackdown continues this Sunday in Burma against pro-democracy demonstrators who took to the streets in their thousands despite the raids the day before, in which members of Aung San Suu Kyi's party were arrested and beaten to death.

In Bagan (center), famous for its century-old pagodas, detonations were heard.

"An 18-year-old boy was shot in the jaw," according to rescuers, while local media reported "at least five people injured."

More than a month after the military coup, the protest continues.
