After fleeing Iraq, ravaged by war, Christians return to the country and discover that they have been dispossessed of their property by criminals, who claim to be linked to Iraqi power.

For these victims, a long and sometimes dangerous legal battle begins, which has little chance of success.

Echoing the violence suffered by Christians in Iraq, Pope Francis, visiting the country, pleaded, Friday March 5, for "their participation in public life" as "citizens enjoying full rights, freedom and responsibility".

In 20 years, the Christian community has grown from 1.5 million members to less than 400,000 in this Muslim country.
