Saturday, Nayah, the French representative at Eurovision 1999 will try her luck at the blind auditions of the TF1 telecrochet.
Last year, it was Maria Cuche, and the one before, Lisa Angell, respectively candidates from Ireland in 1985 and France in 2015, who found themselves on the show.
Pure chance or deliberate choice?
"A mixture of the two", answers Bruno Berberes, casting director of

Throughout the year, he skims the song contests and open stages of France.
Fate thus led him to meet Maria near Nancy, where she has lived for several years, or to officiate in a jury alongside Lisa Angell.
But when others would look down on these artists who have passed their forties, he does not fall into snobbery.
And for good reason: from 2001 to 2012, he was the head of the French delegation to Eurovision and therefore knows perfectly the great musical barnum, its codes and its backstage.
