New Zealand announces emergency evacuation due to tsunami threat

As noted, the threat of a tsunami was announced after a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.1 in the area of ​​the New Zealand Kermadec archipelago in the Pacific Ocean.

Residents of the coastal zone of Severny Island were ordered to urgently evacuate to high places.

Earlier off the coast of New Zealand there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3. 

Later, a repeated earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 was recorded and a tsunami threat was declared.
