Recently, a CCTV reporter from the main station learned from the Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology that a high-level tomb of the Western Han Dynasty was discovered in Anfu County. Experts initially speculated that the owner of the tomb was at the rank of Liehou and may be related to the Anpinghou of the Western Han Dynasty.

The tomb is located in Qifengshan, Anfu County. It was discovered in August 2019. A rescue archaeological excavation was carried out in October of that year. After more than a year of work, the tomb was cleaned up by the end of January this year.

After excavation, the tomb is a "A" shaped vertical hole earthen pit wooden coffin tomb, which is composed of sealing soil, tomb passage, tomb pit and coffin chamber.

Pottery, bronze, lacquered wood, silver, gold, glaze, bronze mirrors and other artifacts were unearthed from the tomb.

Xu Hongjie, assistant librarian of the Jiangxi Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and member of the Qifengshan Tomb Archaeological Team: Judging from the tomb shape and the unearthed relics, this is a rare high-level tomb in the middle and late Western Han Dynasty.

The excavation of Fengshan tombs in Anfuqi is of great value to the study of the history and culture of Jiangxi and the Western Han Dynasty. It sets a benchmark for the study of the burial customs and regulations of high-level tombs in the Western Han Dynasty. It also provides an opportunity to find the jurisdiction of Anchenghou and Anpinghou in the Western Han Dynasty. Important clues.
