Painting can be learned at any age. Now there are people in our yard who are still learning to paint at the age of eighty.
I got it through practice. I have to stand for at least five hours for this painting.
[Explanation] Recently, the reporter walked into the studio "Mojizhai" of the elderly Lou Muguang in Tianshan District, Urumqi. The 91-year-old grandmother Lou Muguang was creating a picture of a peony, and within a few strokes, a gorgeous peony was already on the paper.

I think painting is very good. I am very happy for a day. I don’t think about anything. I don’t sleep at noon during the day and don’t rest at noon. Sometimes I can stand for eight hours when painting. My students can’t stand me, they three hours. Can't stand, big and small can't stand.
[Commentary] Grandma Lou told reporters that she had many diseases, had surgery on her waist, and her waist is not straight now, but she doesn’t get tired of standing and painting every day. She paints in the studio for a day, so she works with painting. She persisted for more than 30 years, and her works have also won many awards.

I also have a lot of illnesses, diabetes, high blood pressure, cerebral infarction, (lumbar) intervertebral disc surgery, my waist can’t straighten up, and my stature has also become shorter. I have removed a small section, but I just put it aside, as long as I’m in a good mood. Longevity, I didn’t treat this disease as a disease
[Explanation] Brushes and paper can be seen everywhere in the studio. Grandma Lou told reporters that she had worn more than 500 brushes in the past 30 years.

My (daughter) daughter-in-law counted them, (the painting was broken) five hundred brushes, there was a big bag in the cabinet, one pile here, one pile here, and another pile. I have painted for more than 30 years, 500 Many of the brushes are broken, my hand, old writing, the joints are swollen
[Explanation] Grandma Lou was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. She liked painting since she was a child and was admitted to the Harbin Academy of Fine Arts. Later, she abandoned her pen to go to medicine under the opposition of her family.
After retiring, Grandma Lou decided to regain her paintbrush. In order to learn painting, she often spent her retirement salary.

Paying at the teacher’s house, the cost of painting is the same as the piano, which is very expensive, so I spent all my salary
[Explanation] Nowadays, Grandma Lou uses painting to make friends, teaches traditional Chinese painting techniques, shares the joy of painting, records her happy life, and attracts a lot of fans every day by insisting on the spirit of Danqing and wonderful pens.
Grandma Lou's study is full of her newly created works, many of which have been collected by fans.

I paint very slowly now. They buy paintings on Douyin. I owe them a lot of paintings. I haven't painted them yet and haven't sent them away.
