  • Since March 1 and for several weeks, the Sytral exhibits works from Lyon museums, still closed, on tramways and in certain metro stations.

  • An operation intended to support cultural places, severely impacted by the health crisis, and to make art again accessible to the public.

Metro trains and lifts as showcases.

Since Monday and for several weeks, around sixty works of art from Lyon museums have been exhibited on the TCL network.

An operation imagined by Sytral to make art again accessible to everyone, one year after the start of the health crisis and the long closure of the exhibition spaces.

“This commitment is a strong signal that aims to democratize culture by offering residents unlimited and free access to major cultural works.

In a period deprived of leisure, the integration of an artistic dimension in public transport makes it possible to offer a moment of discovery and surprise to travelers ”, underlines Bruno Bernard, president of Sytral and of the Métropole de Lyon.

We need art and culture.

Support for museums, still closed

A strong sign also sent to cultural venues, still private, which have obviously agreed to play along. The majority of Lyon museums have made posters, photos and reproductions of some of their most famous works available.

Among them, the contemporary art museum unveils seven works from the exhibition

Comme un parfum d'aventure

and a selection of works from the exhibition

Edi Dubien, the man of a thousand natures.

The Center for the History of Resistance and Deportation presents nine sentimental postcards from 1939 from its collections.

And the Musée des Confluences has made available photos from its temporary exhibitions

Makay, a refuge in Malagasy soil

and

L'Oiseau Rare, de l'hirondelle au kakapo.

Works to discover or rediscover during a trip on the TCL network, on trams and at tram stops and in certain metro stations.
