It is in these terms that the Nuits de Fourvière de Lyon announced Tuesday evening on their networks that the 2021 edition will take place next summer.

The dates have been communicated: the festival will be held from May 27 to July 31.

"The measures announced by the Minister of Culture concerning the summer festivals now allow us to provide a framework for working on a program and inventing the next Nights", explain the organizers who will have to adapt the gauge of the ancient theater of Fourvière to sanitary standards.

On February 18, Roselyne Bachelot announced that the summer festivals could be maintained under several conditions: not to exceed the maximum capacity of 5,000 people, to ensure that the public is seated and respect for physical distancing.

A maximum capacity of 5,000 people seated

The Nuits de Fourvière, which will celebrate its 75th anniversary this summer, have a capacity of 4,500 seats in the stands of the Grand Théâtre and 1,200 seats for the Odeon.

The program, currently under development, should be communicated in the coming weeks.

The only certainty: Thom Yorke, the leader of the Radiohead group, announced on July 7, 2021, will ultimately not be part of the game.

The singer canceled his English and European tour a few days ago due to the Covid19 epidemic.
