One number: 2 million.

That is the number of women in France who suffer from menstrual insecurity.

Today, one in three students declares, for example, having difficulty in purchasing periodic protection.

Faced with this observation, the metropolis of Lyon will launch a large collection of sanitary napkins and tampons.

This is what she announced this Tuesday at the end of the morning.

The collection will begin on March 8, International Women's Rights Day, and end on May 28, World Feminine Hygiene Day.

It is also a question of "making the general public aware of this question of menstrual precariousness and of highlighting a subject which is still too often taboo", explains the metropolis of Lyon.

The modalities and progress of this action have not yet been revealed.

They will be presented on Friday morning at a press point in Lyon.

The government announced on February 23 that periodical coverage would be free at the start of the next school year for female students.
