Libya, Syria, the Caucasus, the Turkish army had never been present on so many fronts.
Within NATO, of which it is a member, Ankara is challenging its allies, buying Russian anti-missile missiles and extreme tensions with Greece last summer.
To impose his country as a power capable of standing up to Moscow or Washington is the stated ambition of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Turkish president however leads a country weakened by a serious economic crisis since 2018, but also a society polarized like never before.
So much so that among his longtime voters, some are discreetly beginning to doubt.
